LEAVE COMPROMISES AND THE EXPECTED BEHIND

The idea of ruthlessly merging two perspectives of culture and art emerged in the meeting between
Ludvig Löfgren, formerly resident artist and Master glass blower at legendary Kosta Boda and Johan
Belin, a long time advertising professional in Gothenburg, Sweden. Both nurtured a dream to go way
beyond the scope of the ordinary for Swedish art glass. And at the same time, to do the same with
conventions in the Custom and Hot Rod world. To unite two worlds. To merge contrasts and create
an expression and experience never seen before. In other words – to juxtapose.

IT’S A DREAM COME TRUE AND GONE BEYOND.

More than 2.500 hours of skilled and hard work has been put into this magnificent piece of art. Totally unique crystal details have been designed, crafted and cut. Almost every part on the Juxtapod has been customized and carefully treated to fit into the grand totality of what is the Juxtapod. With a stunning and globally recognized result. To say that it is unique is an understatement.

EVERY PIECE IS DESIGNED, MODIFIED OR CRAFTED.

Every part of this creation is made, modified or crafted. More than 1.200 parts of the car have been ground, polished and chromed. The glass is hand blown and crafted by Ludvig Löfgren and his team at Kosta Boda, the legendary Swedish glass maker. Every piece is designed and made to be an integral part of the Juxtapod concept.

A FULLY FUNCTIONING PIECE OF ART

The Juxtapod is 1928 a Ford Pickup that has been modified according to all Hot Rod tricks in the book, a with a special touch of the 60’s show car style. The frame has been Z:ed and channeled. The front axle is dropped and the chassi lowered. It’s equipped with the classic first year Chevrolet 348, aka W series. The Juxtapod is built to be fully functioning, however it has never been started since we’ve shown it pristine as the art piece it really is.

AWARD WINNING ART

The Juxtapod has been shown at car shows in the nordic area, as well as in various art venues, winning numerous awards and prizes. In Helsinki in 2012, it won, among other, the John D’Agostino Special Hot Rod award. However, it has not been shown in the US or other parts of the world. We’re counting on someone to take it onwards to the attention and glory  it deserves in these parts.
